What is YiSHDA

Youth Initiative for Sustainable Human Development in Africa (YiSHDA) is a non-for-profit organization established with a definite purpose to serve as African youth platform for Potential Discovery, Development, Leadership and Value Creation.

Why YiSHDA

The idea is to have a youth organization that will be broad-based and address salient issues that border on young people’s development. The purpose of establishing YiSHDA is to also nurture discipline among young people by instilling in them the spirit of patriotism, moral values, and loyalty in a bid to raise responsible citizens and thereby promoting Sustainable Development for all people in Nigeria.

Our Mission

To advocate for policies and programs that have the potential to impact positively the lives of young people especially in the areas of Education, ICT, Environment and Business Development.

Our Aim

To inspire and educate young people by building their capacity, leadership and responsibility skills.

Our Objectives

•       Contribute our quota to the development of Nigeria and Africa at large by impacting the lives of the youth

•       Advocate for things that will guarantee moral standards in the life of young people.

•       Promote sustainable development for all people in the society

Our Belief

We believe that young people have the right to express their opinion and put their initiatives into practice. We also believe that the moment to change is now and we want to use our God-given talents and energy to ongoing efforts at attaining a better society. We also believe young people should be involved in decision-making processes that affect them and the society.

YiSHDA consists mainly of young professionals who understand the challenges facing the society.  This is a plus for us in YiSHDA because we are able to put ourselves in the shoes of the young person we intend to influence.

 Youths have a tremendous deposit of unexploited knowledge and skills that can be useful to their wellbeing, immediate community and the society at large. We therefore evaluate the talents and level of skills they have and how they can harness it to realize their goal.

The ability to apply new ideas that will enable youths to undertake unique activities is another hallmark of YiSHDA.
